Day 1
Arrival / Dambulla

Today, Sigiriya offers her visitors a gallery of 5th – century paintings completed with landscaped gardens unrivalled and unmatched by any contemporary citadel in the world. At 600 feet, the view from the royal pavilion sis arrestingly beautiful. The boulder and the pleasure gardens, admired for 1,500 years, reflect the skill and the technique of the early engineers. the principles used in the design of the gardens, as well as in the construction of both symmetric and asymmetric structures, speak highly for the art and architecture of 5th century Sri Lanka. Sigiriya has become a goldmine for archaeologists and art historians. While stone was used at the basement and ground – floor levels, the upper – floor levels wee all of tropical wood which was generally used for the construction of pavilions and other edifices.

The ancient city of Kandy, located in Sri Lanka’s centre, is known to be the country’s cultural capital and an example of Sri Lanka’s rich cultural heritage. This beautiful city in the hills is ideal for relaxing and reflecting. The City is home to the tooth relic of the Lord Buddha and it is housed in the famous ‘DaladaMaligawa’ or ‘Temple of the Tooth’, which attracts thousands to the city every year including devotees as well as visitors who come to marvel at the beautiful architecture of the temple. Kandy is also home to many other old temples and other landmarks, including the amazing Peradeniya Botanical Gardens.

Bentota is a town located on the southern coast of Sri Lanka that offers a unique experience for travelers who could be both nature lovers and thrill seekers looking for a beach hoiliday.. Being home to some spectacular beaches, a tropical lagoon, as well as the Madu river, Bentota offers a unique experience for water sports enthusiasts and explorers alike. Go for an adrenaline pumping jet ski ride on the Indian ocean, or enjoy a romantic boat ride of the Madu River, and of course dig in to some scrumptious sea food as you experience the tropics at its finest.
